I had Polio as a child but managed my condition with the aid of callipers and crutches. Recently however I developed Post Polio Syndrome and I realised to combat my decline I was going to need a wheelchair. A local Disability Mobility franchise put me in touch with Clinical Mobility Solutions and Ben Upson, the owner, came to my home to assess the situation. He was kindness and understanding personified and eventually after two visits and testing several different chairs, I/we decided on a Progeo (Joker) R2. Ben went over absolutely everything In a methodical, helpful way and measured me thoroughly for my chair so it was bespoke for me. There was no hard sell, just a kind but professional approach, where my needs and expectations were paramount. The chair (I christened Enzo) duly arrived from Italy in October 2019 and I was mobile! “Enzo” has totally changed my life, as during “Lockdown” I took to propelling myself around our local park on a more or less daily routine. Pushing as hard as I could. So far, to date (Six months in) I have covered (utilising the Strava App) 550 miles. This exercise has built up my upper body strength, stamina and general self confidence Through it all, Ben and his wonderful young set up, have kept me mobile with thorough servicing of the chair and more importantly, good sound advice and encouragement. I would highly recommend CMS to anyone considering an “upgrade” in wheelchair transport. It has truly changed my life.
